icestar
and the arms of the ocean are carrying me
NAME: Icestar (Icestar)
AGE: 38 moons
GENDER: Tom
CLAN: WindClan
RANK: Leader
and all this devotion was rushing out of me
SHORT DESCRIPTION:
Grey-white tom with ice blue eyes.
APPEARANCE:
Icestar is a muscular tom with grey-white fur and ice blue eyes. His fur is short and somewhat coarse due to his age. Because of his muscular body this tom is strong and fairly big. He has a short tail and dark grey ears. This tom has several scars across his body from the battles he has fought as well as the foxes and badgers he has driven away.
Icestar's paws are fairly huge and can be used to bring down slightly bigger animals (foxes and badgers). In leafbare his pelt does little to help keep him warm and therefore is often seen shivering, though not complaining. His grey-white pelt can help him hide in similar colored surroundings from snow to rocks. However, at night he can be seen.

PERSONALITY:
Icestar is a compassionate tomcat, but can sometimes be a little too blunt when it comes to others. He is a good strategist, but again can be a little too blunt. Even though he is only a normal cat he sometimes forgets that other cats besides himself have feelings. While he may keep his under extreme wraps, the tom doesn't always think about others' feelings before he speaks. However, if he does offend another cat he will give it some time before he apologizes for his lack of respect.
When it comes to she-cats this tom usually says the first thing that comes to mind... even if it might not be the best thing to say or ask. However, he will lay down his life to protect his Clanmates and isn't afraid to stand up for what is right. He doesn't believe in needless bloodshed and he most certainly won't back down from a challenge no matter who the challenger is. He feels that every cat should speak their mind and offer an opinion, even kits and apprentices as they are part of the Clan.
Because of his lack of tact, this tom can be a bit prickly at first and has a hard time making friends, but he adjusts quickly. And once you make a friend of him, he sticks to what is loyal and true to the bitter end. He doesn't believe in leaving a friend to suffer when they don't deserve it, but he also knows what happens if you break the rules. He will stick up for others if they truly did nothing wrong, but he won't step in to help when the rules are broken. He does not believe in favoritism. Aside from this, Icestar is as good a cat as any and will even help apprentices if their mentors are unavailable.
In fact, this tom enjoys helping others and will even help them with problem areas in order to pass their assessment if need be. He believes all cats deserve a chance at becoming warriors no matter the infraction. He even understands that kits and apprentices will often get into trouble. It is their nature and he feels that they should experience the bad along with the good, otherwise their lives won't be truly complete.

but the arms of the ocean delivered me
MOTHER: Rosecloud
FATHER: Foxpelt
SIBLINGS: Applefire (sister), Bearclaw (brother), and Rubystem (sister)
OTHER FAMILY: N/A
MENTOR: Lightheart (former mentor, deceased) and Heatherspots (former mentor, deceased)
HISTORY:
Icestream was born to Foxpelt and Rosecloud. He was the second of four kits born in the litter. In order it was Rubystem, Icestream, Bearclaw, and then Applefire. As a young kit the tom always got into trouble, much to his mother's chagrin. However, the tom always managed to worm his way into the hearts of others.
As the moons passed, it became apparent that while Icekit was a wonderful cat, he had some issues with speaking before thinking. This began to get under the fur of his Clanmates and he often wondered what was going on. Luckily for him he started realizing this in his apprenticeship training and tried to work on it... not entirely successful. When he was first apprenticed his mentor was Lightheart, a light colored tom with green eyes. Thus began his training.
Icepaw learned quickly from Lightheart, but sometimes the two butted heads because of Icepaw's words. Outside of training the two were fairly close... or as close as two cats could be who were extreme opposites. It wasn't until Icepaw was eight moons old that tragedy struck. During a routine patrol with Lightheart and two other cats, a fox came out of nowhere and attacked the group. Lightheart was killed instantly while giving the other three time to escape.
That night after the vigil, the leader then appointed Heatherspots, a tortoiseshell she-cat with amber eyes, to be his mentor. Heatherspots was more gentle than Icepaw's last mentor and things were different with her. Icepaw was her first apprentice and the two had one thing in common.... Lightheart had been both their mentors. Icepaw learned a lot from this gentler cat, but even as a mentor she did have a strict side as well. She did not tolerate Icepaw's mouth and whenever he said something that wasn't right, he would be given the task of looking after the Elders.
For five moons the tom trained under Heatherspot's watchful gaze. She ensured that her first apprentice was going to have a good training even if she was the second mentor. Finally, the day came when Icepaw received his warrior name of Icestream. He was given the name due to his icy eyes. They looked like icy lake pools. During his vigil that night, Icestream wondered what the best way to get revenge for Lightheart's death would be. Of course the fox got away so there was no way of knowing if it was still alive. Another Clan could have gotten to it and killed it.
When the sun rose Heatherspots took Icestream and his siblings to the warrior den and they found their nests. At sunhigh, Icestream was told to join a patrol. It was a simple routine, one he had done thousands of times as an apprentice. And of course nothing interesting happened aside from renewing the scent markers. Upon returning to the camp the leader asked Icestream to meet with him. The young tomcat listened to his leaders words. The fox had returned, but this time was settling in a place between RiverClan and WindClan territories.
The tom was to go scout it out. Excitement prickled the tom's fur. This just might be the opportunity he had been waiting for! After being given his instructions, the tom left the camp to go scout around. What he didn't know was that he was being followed... and not by another warrior either. Close to the fox's den Icestream sensed another cat. Cautiously he followed the scent until he found the hiding place of a young she-cat kit. Anger coursed through Icestream's fur. Not because he was followed, but because a kit was in a potentially dangerous situation with no protection except his own.
Rough words were exchanged between the two. Because of this, neither realized that the fox had snuck up on them. Icestream went flying and landed heavily across the patch of land. The she-cat kit, Sparrowkit, rushed to his side. The tom couldn't get up, which meant the she-cat had to step in... with no training. At first Icestream tried to protest, but Sparrowkit told him to butt out. He watched as the little kit avoided the fox's paws and ran away.
At nightfall a RiverClan patrol came and took Icestream back to the camp where he received medical attention. Once he was better the tom went back to his Clan and to his leader and explained everything and that he wanted Sparrowkit as his apprentice. She had a good heart and good instincts, but she needed training. And it would hold special meaning for Icestream if he trained her. There were two reasons behind this. One was that the little kit had saved his life and two was that she was one of Lightheart's last kits before he died.
Two moons later Icestream got his wish. He was mentored to young Sparrowpaw and he immediately began her training. Like Lightheart and Heatherspots before him, Icestream was rough with Sparrowpaw. And since she shared something with Icestream and Heatherspots, the tom knew she could handle anything. And boy did Lightheart show in his daughter.
At twelve moons old, Sparrowpaw was ready to become a warrior and took the name of Sparrowheart. That leafbare, tragedy struck again. Greencough swept through the camp. A few cats fell ill with it including Icestream and Sparrowheart. However, the cat that fell from it was Heatherspots. The she-cat had had lung problems for some time, even before she took Icestream as her apprentice, and the illness didn't help. The she-cat died in her sleep. Icestream was there at her vigil and promised that he would live on for her and Lightheart.
After that the moons passed peacefully. Now the tom is thirty-eight moons and still going. He only mentored Sparrowheart, but he is keeping an eye out for any other kits that have good hearts and strong minds that he think would be worthy apprentices to train.
